What is Better U?

Better U is an alternative mental health organization dedicated to increasing access and awareness to breakthrough treatments. Our clinicians provide customized psychedelic therapy programs that include clinical at-home ketamine treatments, in-office psychiatric services, breathwork, and integration coaching for those wanting to experience an alternative to traditional medications. Our programs and ketamine treatments support individuals looking to improve their mental wellness and achieve long-term success. Our mission is to transform mental health and reform psychiatry from the diagnose and treat illness model to a thought expansion, neurological reset and spiritual health model by addressing the core causes of depression, anxiety, and chronic stress. How does it work?

Beginning with an online assessment/video consult with a clinician to see if online ketamine therapy is right for you. Then, you'll schedule your first visit where you'll meet with your clinician to prepare for your first session. Based on your response, your clinician will provide a personalized plan for the following treatment sessions. Throughout your journey, you'll use our online platform to help prepare for your ketamine therapy treatments, self-exploration, and integrate what you've learned from these treatments into your daily life.

What is Psychedelic Therapy?

Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and self-improvement techniques during a mental state of accelerated acceptance, peace and flexibility. Psychedelic medicine enhances neuroplasticity, which allows our mind to overcome rigid thinking and negative thought patterns. As a result, therapeutic exploration becomes easier and more efficient. By deconstructing rigid neurological and emotional barriers, psychedelic therapy promotes transformational shifts in perspective.

What is a treatment?

Psychedelic therapy with online ketamine treatments are completed at your own time in the comfort of your own home. Beginning with breathwork, online ketamine therapy, self-administered medication, along with treatment preparation (prior to first treatment) and post-session integration coaching appointments to help you cement healthier habits and thought patterns. This is accompanied by an online safety and self-therapy guidance program. Before and after your online ketamine treatments it is mandatory that you adhere to everything in the Treatment Protocol in the Members Section, which is accessible after a clinician accepts you into the Better U program.

Is ketamine therapy covered by insurance?

Unfortunately, the at-home ketamine treatments are not covered by insurance at this time. We created this program to help bring this effective treatment as a cost-effective alternative to I.V. treatments. How much does ketamine therapy cost typically? For weekly in-office ketamine infusions treatments may range from $3,000 to $5,000. We do accept HSA/FSA payments and offer payment plans with multiple third-party financing options.

If this therapy is working for me can I continue with more sessions?

Yes, after your initial ketamine experiences our medical team will advise and determine continuation of the program.

Is ketamine therapy legal?

This is a great question and a common misconception about ketamine. Ketamine is FDA- approved and is used daily in hospitals around the world. Over the last 50 years, ketamine has been used in hospitals as an anesthetic. Within the last 20 years, researchers have discovered multiple uses that could treat mental health conditions with ketamine. In fact, the evidence is so strong the American Psychiatric Association put out a statement saying that the antidepressant effects of ketamine are both rapid and robust. A derivative of ketamine, called Esketamine, was granted an FDA approval for treatment-resistant depression. Yes, ketamine therapy is absolutely legal as long as it is prescribed by a licensed physician and there's Peer Support present during your session.
